1. Hire a professional.
Since the wedding video is one of the best investments of the wedding day, hire a professional. Having a nice camera isn't enough, it is the skill in capturing the beauty and emotions of the day that makes you a professional. Remember, you only have one chance to capture your wedding day, so hire a professional. Make sure they are a member of a local and national association like www.upva.org, www.weva.com or www.4evergroup.org .

2. Choose a professional who has a personality and style that is a good match.
Since they are going to be with you all day, make sure you like them and they help you feel comfortable. If you are a fun couple, hire a fun videographer! Be sure and ask to see their recent work and make sure it is the same videographer that will be filming on your wedding day. I keep over sixty videos on my website so brides know the work my clients are receiving and the kind of work they will receive themselves.

3. Film late in the afternoon or before the wedding day for the best lighting.
The best lighting is two hours before the sun sets. If this isn't possible on your wedding day, many couples are now shooting the video prior to the wedding day. You can choose this option if your videographer is already booked on your wedding day, if you want to film somewhere other than their wedding location or you want to take the time to get an amazing video.

4. Tell the story behind the magic.
Your future children and grandchildren want to know not only what happened on your wedding day, but your story. This is great to show at the wedding dinner or luncheon to introduce each other to your family and friends.

5. Enjoy your wedding day!
No matter what happens on your wedding day, you are with the one you love and that is all that really, truly matters. Celebrate! Trust the professionals you have hired and focus on the love of your life. This will give the videographer even more candid and magical moments to capture.

The Ultimate Wedding Giveaway with our lucky winners, Christa and Logan, has finally come! Here is a sneak peak of their same day edit. We ended up heading downtown for some new and unique shots and that was a lot of fun to get something you wouldn't normally see on a temple wedding video. Christa and Logan were really laid back and we had a great time just hanging out and enjoying the heat wave.

Kelsi wanted some cool angles and artsy shots, so that's what we did. Shot at a bunch of new locations in downtown Salt Lake City and focused on "light and lines". Kelsi and Rusty have been dating for so long that they were super comfortable just hanging out and having fun. These two redheads have traveled the world together from Matsu Pitsu to China to anywhere else you can think of. Why would I post about a guy who isn't in the wedding business? Well, he actually is.

He's in EVERY business because he is Mr Internet.

But that's not why I'm posting about him. I am currently at a seminar in New Jersey and just listened to his presentation about marketing on the internet, but I got a lot more out of than just that. Wow! Got me fired up about going after my purpose in life and supporting others in doing the same. No matter who you are or what you are doing, that's an AWESOME MESSAGE that I fully support! I also believe that there is an abundance in the world and enough for everyone to have their dreams. I am so thankful that I know my purpose in life is to create artistic videos that bring others closer to God and that I have so many who support me in that. Thank's everyone!

David Beckstead was named one of the top 10 best photographers in the world and he has been in SLC putting on a workshop. Elysia's family are all dear friends of mine and I absolutely love them. As you can see from the photo, Elysia was just gorgeous on the wedding day and I have been meaning to post her and Jared's video for some time now. It was so exciting that their wedding film took first place in the temple video category with the yearly UPVA contest! UPVA had over 80 total entrees this year so it was a lot of fun.
